Wood smoke and fireplaces…

November 30, 2010

We spent the long Thanksgiving weekend up on the coast of Maine, visiting dad-in-law and pecking away at the long list of things to be done up there.  There was a lot of driving involved, both getting there from our part of MA, and then between his apartment and our little piece of heaven.

Obvious, I guess, why we think of this place as heaven...

Can you see the rainbow?

The views are incredible, the atmosphere so peaceful…but the smell…everywhere we went, the fragrance of wood smoke perfumed the air.  We have no working TV or internet in our little house right now, so we have been sitting in front of a blazing fire early and late, listening to MPBN (Maine Public Broadcasting)…when we got home late Sunday, we still smelled of wood smoke…mmmm….
